Guidance for archaeological and historic pottery production sites

These guidelines promote good practice for investigating the remains of archaeological and historic pottery production sites.

Current Article Views: 180 views

This guidance covers pottery production sites in England from about six thousand years ago through to the recent past.

The examples focus on production sites of vessels, rather than bricks, tiles or sanitary wares, but much of the practical advice: on scientific dating, sampling, and post-excavation analysis for example, may still apply.
