Skylarks – Experimental and Experiential archaeology

The Community Archaeologists and Nottinghamshire County Council are working with The Wildlife Trust to provide opportunities for people to engage directly in their heritage at the site starting this summer!

The Wildlife Trust in Nottinghamshire has been working to secure the future of a plot of land near Holme Pierrepont, to create a nature reserve that takes inspiration from its rich and fascinating heritage. They have been successful in securing HLF funding for three years of improvements to the site.

As part of this they are making the site available to groups and individuals who would be interested in carrying out archaeological experiments of all sorts, either as part of academic research or just to have a go and experience the past for yourself.

It could be anything; from building and firing a kiln to making a log boat!

They will be able to help with securing the materials you need and with carrying out your experiment safely.
