Managers with a health and safety responsibility- new course starting September

The project is part of the Work Based Learning Programme led by the University of South Wales supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.  It provides undergraduate and postgraduate level learning for participants from enterprises in Wales, covering Health and Safety, Environmental Impact,  and behavioural safety and human factors.

This project helps businesses to recognise the role of HS&E in their corporate policies, improving performance and morale, and reducing risk.  Participants nminated by their employers will be equipped with an understanding of the legal and practical issues and will review current practice in their workplace.

The project is delivered by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David as part of its Professional Practice Framework and can form a pathway to accredited academic qualifications.  It complements existing accredited training schemes such as CHAS, IEMA and ICOSH by emphasising the corporate, management, and strategic context, and by focusing on the human factor in successful implementation.   Each topic is covered in a course module with structured content, reading and assignments.

The project is part of the Work Based Learning Programme, funded by the EU’s Convergence European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government. Those working in the private sector, living and/or working in the Convergence Region of Wales (West Wales and Valleys) may be entitled to a funded place on a course.   (Contact us for details)

Courses are run on a three-month cycle commencing in September 2013
