Trowel Holsters - getatrowel - 10th March 2006 Hey guys - would love some feedback on an idea we had. We found an amazing company that makes handmade, beautifully crafted leather holsters - built for WHS 4" trowels. Are you interested in this as a product? Would you buy one as part of a package with a trowel? What would be a reasonable price to pay? Any feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks Ian http://www.getatrowel.co.uk - trowels for archaeological excavators Trowel Holsters - sniper - 10th March 2006 trowels at dawn... I quite like stabbing myself in the buttock when sitting down with one in my back pocket... ++ i spend my days rummaging around in dead people ++ Trowel Holsters - troll - 10th March 2006 Nope, nope and.....nope.Not very practical. Not only that, a certain academic sported one of those when directing a student training excavation. The man was a gonk. The holster simply said "gonk". I wager they would go down a storm in the states..... ..knowledge without action is insanity and action without knowledge is vanity..(imam ghazali,ayyuhal-walad) Trowel Holsters - Beardstroker - 10th March 2006 I quite agree. I've come across one or two bods with these and it does kind of scream "Look at me,aren't I eccentric?" Answer: No. Your a twerp! Trowel Holsters - diggerhobbit - 11th March 2006 why stop at holsters? imagine a full utility belt [8D] tool boxes would become a thing of the past "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein (1879-1955) Trowel Holsters - getatrowel - 11th March 2006 haha ok fair points all round! But maybe the practical benefits outweight the "gonkness"? Ian http://www.getatrowel.co.uk - trowels for archaeological excavators Trowel Holsters - sniper - 11th March 2006 would just get in the way. A holder would imply that you are not actually using the trowel most of the time. Back pockets will suffice for the small amount of time that said trowel is not in your hand... ++ i spend my days rummaging around in dead people ++ Trowel Holsters - diggerhobbit - 11th March 2006 i can see the advantages but personally it would take me so long to actually fasten the trowel safely back into its holster that i would have forgotten what i was diggin in the first place! [8D] and this would do away with all embarassing/amusing accident book entries - perforated backside with sharp brand new 4" trowel etc [:0] but i have known a couple of people who have had then so there must be a market out there - a nicely crafted trowel holder, the perfect archaeological anniversary/retirement gift/keepsake! Albert Einstein (1879-1955) Trowel Holsters - kevin wooldridge - 11th March 2006 Is this some kind of fashion statement? I await the first appearance on Time Team of said garment. The next thing you know archaeologists will be wearing comercially made belts to hold their trousers up rather than the artfully recycled length of baler twine. Trowel Holsters - diggerhobbit - 11th March 2006 didnt phil from time team sport one once? or was this a terrible dream i had?
