We don't, as an archaeological service, run our own archaeological training courses for our staff, as a rule: we send our staff on training courses provided by other organisations (or run by the human resources department).
It would be interesting to know what training diggers reading this would like to have. Is it formal training in specifically archaeological skills? Or is it the chance to exercise greater reponsibility and develop through experience?

I think it was this thread where we were talking about CPD. There's a report on the IFA website:

reporting the response to a consultation on CPD which was done in the summer. I haven't read it yet, but thought people might like to know it was there.
