MPhil is kinda like a mini PHD..and they like you to do an MPHIL with the intention of it leading to a PHD. It is more reserch based than a taugh masters...you come up with you own topic, i don't think you have any lectures....bla bla

i don't know much else about them, some of my mates are doing MPhils, but I much prefer to do a taught masters
