British University stinks.... - troll - 14th May 2005 Just a quick note regarding the suing business. We have just witnessed powerful world Governments side-stepping international law and imposing their own through violence for nothing more than economic reasons. This has been a continuous process (covertly or otherwise) for centuries. Please don`t imagine for a moment that people will cease to speak out against injustice and flagrant breaches of Human rights when threatened with legal action for offering an opinion. If I am to be sued, one would also have to sue the majority of the world`s Governments and Human rights organisations at the same time. Bring it on. A guilty party is clearly desperate when, attempting to discredit a witness is their only form of defence.Lets return to the issue please and put aside the assumption that I am in some way anti-Turkish, I`m not-I grew up with and, lived amongst them.Anyone considering taking legal action regarding my statements thus far should recognise that my words are my own and are in no way a reflection of BAJR- a site that promotes fair and, free discussion. British University stinks.... - deepdigger - 16th May 2005 The problem with Cyprus is they aint got no oil! except the olive type which george w and his compatriots dont want. the day that the USA find something they want in Cyprus the attention of the world will be turned there and the Tonka's will get booted back out. deep British University stinks.... - troll - 17th May 2005 I was`nt aware that the island had ever been invaded by large, bright yellow toy construction vehicles.... British University stinks.... - deepdigger - 17th May 2005 Hey Troll, no colour bias here mate, also available in blue! deep British University stinks.... - Guest - 18th May 2005 Your position as a refugee in a place where heavy fighting took place inevitably shows a bias, to deny so is not realistic, and there would not seem to be a problem with that. Your appeals that you are not anti-Turkish sit uneasily with the opening statement you made in this topic. As for suing, I think you may miss a point- it is not about your views on Cyprus, which you are entitled too of course which may be seen as contentious to an observing party, but that you may be erroneous in your accusations against institutions. Sword of Damacles British University stinks.... - BAJR Host - 18th May 2005 I am keeping an eye on here as I realise this is an emotive issue. here is an interesting link that may show how things are changing --- though slowly http://aegee.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=CYCST05 A site detailing who is working in Cyprus http://www.ancientneareast.net/cyprus.html the BM site at Ekomi has been abandoned since 1974 ater work started in 1896! You can't beat a google (and the Google Directory is a cracker) http://directory.google.com/Top/Science/Social_Sciences/Archaeology/Regional/Middle_East/Cyprus/ Troll has passed on the names which he wisely kept off this board... I will be looking into it further, but so far have only found a PHd Student looking into Calcolithic sites in Northern Cyprus. till then... stay cool everyone. [u]Pulp Fiction</u>) deep British University stinks.... - troll - 19th May 2005 Enquiries are ongoing however- it would seem that at least one member of staff in question is working in a "humanitarian" context in northern Cyprus... I have high hopes and look forward to more information...yours when I have it..... British University stinks.... - deepdigger - 20th May 2005 Be careful on the "name and shame" front mate. lets not have you in court a second time!! deep British University stinks.... - BAJR Host - 20th May 2005 Everything solved... nobody needs named.. nobody done wrong. misunderstanding from what I see. everyone act like a fridge ... stay cool[8D] |
