Support for London - trowelhead - 15th July 2005 Hey Guys I think this thread is for condolence and to lend sympathy not a rant about politics. Support for London - Galaxsea - 15th July 2005 I tend to read most of my news these days in the BBC web page. It gets set up by region so you can read a bit of detail from around the world. Even though I am fiercely patriotic and love my country I hate the phrase "United Kingdom". Its a real contradiction in terms. I am British and proud to be so. I still have my passport in the old British passport case. This gets me in trouble every time I go through and airport but I don't care. I'm not a European and never will be. The likes of the Bush Child may want to push me that way but I can push back harder. Because our imigration laws have been so lax in this country for god knows how many years, because we are the country that invented slavery, because we are always so willing to help the oppressed in this country we have ended up with what is probably the most multi-cultural society in the world. There is someone in this country who can be a voice for anyone and anything. Even though the reasons may shame us, the current situation should make us proud. The problem is, it just makes us more of a target. Proud to be the illegitimate son of Troll. Support for London - Galaxsea - 15th July 2005 Apologies for the political rant. Trowelhead, you're right and I now feel humble. My thoughts are truely with all those who were affected in any way by those terrible events. They may die in the physical sense but they will live on in the hearts and memories of all. Proud to be the illegitimate son of Troll. Support for London - Mtgorry147 - 15th July 2005 I'll follow Galxsea and apologise for aforementioned rant. My thoughts echo those of everyone on this page Support for London - troll - 15th July 2005 Bound to happen everyone. Such a hideous series of global events are bound to provoke emotive responses and indeed, reactions. We need to see the humanity through the many smokescreens and veiled policies of all sides involved. Propoganda is the new nuclear threat. On that note, I agree with you all, lets leave politics aside and simply stand together here. assalamu alaikhum. |
