Tony Robinson says... - BAJR Host - 9th May 2006 Of course thses views can change... best not to dwell on the past.... ratherlook to the future, while working in the past... er... hold on... nope I have confused myself now.. and I have to confess I would not know the difference either [:I] Another day another WSI? Tony Robinson says... - beamo - 10th May 2006 Kevmar wrote Remember,he can't tell a book clasp, from a clog fastener, but will do a good job of pretending he can And he is therefore no different from many field archaeologists (and I include myself here) who have no difficulty in expressing an opinion regarding the various problems facing the profession. Beamo Tony Robinson says... - Alfie - 10th May 2006 I think Tony is right about getting loud. OI, TIME TEAM - WHERES THE BLOODY SITE REPORT I'VE BEEN WAITING SIX YEARS FOR? [:p] Tony Robinson says... - getatrowel - 10th May 2006 maybe all answers lie here: http://www.unofficialtonyrobinsonwebsite.co.uk/ Ian http://www.getatrowel.co.uk - trowels for archaeological excavators Tony Robinson says... - kevmar - 10th May 2006 Quote:quote:Originally posted by beamo The thing is he's not an archaeologist, just a bit of a loud mouth.... Tony Robinson says... - destroyer - 11th May 2006 The thing is, as far as i'm concerned he's Baldrick - and that gives him enough brownie points to do whatever the hell he wants. Even if he ran over Stonehenge in a JCB I still think i'd be standing there thinking great, its all part of some cunning plan Is it just me though or is he, on that unofficial fan website linked above, reading A Bluffers Guide to Archaeology? Tony Robinson says... - Paul Barford - 11th May 2006 Quote:quote:Originally posted by destroyerhe certainly is. Not a bad book. Tony Robinson says... - BAJR Host - 11th May 2006 A the secret of many (mine as well) a career! Another day another WSI? Tony Robinson says... - the invisible man - 12th May 2006 Is there a problem with it? I thought it was a textbook.......... We owe the dead nothing but the truth. Tony Robinson says... - Cutesmileuk - 12th May 2006 quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by destroyer Is it just me though or is he, on that unofficial fan website linked above, reading A Bluffers Guide to Archaeology? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was given the bluffers guide to archaeology - looks nothing like the book hes reading [:I] (was given the book by family mind - i suppose they thought it be a funny present) I remember when I started my degree (which Im now finishing) where we had to do presentations, we not knowingly used terms like geophys, digging etc that Tony uses on Time Team - which resulted in us getting totally bollocked for it by lecturers. Yes I think getting Tonys help and opnion on these various matters is a good idea - as he can get our issues out there in the publics eye and celebrity status. He may not be in alot of archaeologists eyes an archaeologist, but he has years more experience than what I have as an undergraduate and many students are enrolling into archaeology courses because of him and Time Team. So should show him alittle respect, he probably now has experience and knowledge to that of many archaeologists out in the field. [?] Down below the mines and sea ooze and fake fossil bones put there by the creator with nothing better to do than upset archaeologists and give them silly ideas.
