treatment of Human remains - BAJR Host - 28th October 2005 well aching.. I still look for it... I remember doing 12 in one day - though some were only partial. blimey.. now that dig was a learning curve.. I still see them you know... the faces aa the faces....[:p] flibble Another day another WSI? treatment of Human remains - mercenary - 28th October 2005 Jesus! Twelve! That's it I'm retiring.[xx(] treatment of Human remains - BAJR Host - 28th October 2005 yeah... welll... I was young....and they did not need much excavating... intercuts! I do miss Uncle Fester and the Sticky Vicar though... though in that case we were the best to excavate them (church falling into mine!) as at least we developmed relationships with people (yep... even in the horror of Skellington we still saw these bodies as real people, who desrved the best we could do for them) Another day another WSI? treatment of Human remains - sniper - 28th October 2005 i agree with you all about the 2 a day thing, not entirely possible, especially if they are whole but rather fragile. However, the new EH/CoE guidelines do state that the grave fill should be retained for sieving. If there was any way of getting this done there and then on site, it could be the way of getting all the little bits and pieces that speed digging would miss. Can't see it happening myself, but all it would take is one person (maybe 2 on a big site), a water supply and some sieves... as for forming relationships with them , also know what you mean, my present lot of skellies are definitely "my boys" and I get very protective of them ++ i spend my days rummaging around in dead people ++ treatment of Human remains - troll - 30th October 2005 12 a ferkin day? Mercenary-don`t retire just yet.Rome has one last job for us....fetch the Remmington twelve gauge sir... treatment of Human remains - achingknees - 31st October 2005 Re Uncle Fester and the Sticky Vicar. Don't forget their relation, hairy Mary. Freaked me out big time. [:0] 12 in a day - that's some very promiscuous relationships [:p] treatment of Human remains - sniper - 31st October 2005 have recently had a Crispy Bishop and one with pubes. And we're complaining about lack of respect for human remains... [:I] ++ i spend my days rummaging around in dead people ++ treatment of Human remains - troll - 1st November 2005 I don`t quite know what to say guys...... "get some therapy"??? treatment of Human remains - sniper - 1st November 2005 nah, I like working with dead people, much better than live ones any day... ++ i spend my days rummaging around in dead people ++ treatment of Human remains - Curator Kid - 2nd November 2005 Dead people are usually easier to get on with than live ones. I once worked with a bloke who said that he liked cemeteries, as they were the only place you could go where you were surrounded by people and yet still enjoy their company. |
