GUARD thrown lifeline against closure - Manuport - 24th June 2010
The outcome of the University Court with regard to GUARD's future within the University has been reported in the media as a further reprieve until December to allow them to ‘explore alternative business models “which may allow it to re-establish its business on a commercial basis independent of the university”’. The limited nature of the press pieces obscure what other models were discussed, but clearly even based on what has been said this is excellent news given the University is acting responsibly in enabling GUARD management enough time to plan an ordered release of this profitable company.
