This just came through to Past Horizons from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, if anyone is interested.
"We need up to 10 volunteers. The site lies adjacent to a lake and is waterlogged. We expect to find remains of huts there is good survival of wood and organic material. We cover all living expenses on site including accommodation and food. We are happy to collect you from Girona airport, this is a Ryanair airport. La Draga is around 40km from Girona in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Great fun, good weather."

To Bonesgirl and Other Interested Bradford Students-
Dig Hungate in York has been offering placements to Bradford students since summer 2007 (from one month in duration to the full nine months). We've had some excellent students who have contributed a huge amount to the project and gained a wealth of CV valuable experience!. Some have gone on to gain paid employment with YAT and/or other units, so it seems to be a formula that works!
The Dept at Bradford have recently been in touch to ask us if we will offering placements for the 2011-12 academic year. Unfortunately it is a little too early to give an answer at the moment as it will depend on site schedules at Hungate (we are due to finish at the end of 2011) and other opportunities within YAT's fieldwork division. We will provide details to the Department if/when we are able to make an offer of placements.

I can provide contacts in the coal industry of Central Queensland Australia for a get up and go archaeologist. Check out Emerald in Google maps. The cost of a sponsored visa in 2007 was about 300 Australian dollars. To obtain a visa for Emerald would not be difficult if you could find a sympathetic company such as BHP Gregory to sponsor you. Its worth considering, they are always looking for good press coverage.
