and will all these treaties be valid to Scotland, if not-- then couldn't that be said to require all those treaties to be revisited by the remnants of the uk. There is some question that the scots don't want trident so that's kind like they don't want NATO and that's a big change to a treaty. These treaties are kinda not as valid as they once were.
What I don't understand is who has the authority to create a British referendum for a limited minority number of people residing in a limited part of the jurisdiction, has there been one before anywhere (Ireland). My current conspiracy theory is that the scots are being pushed out of the uk. What I recon is that there will be a load of forged yes ballot papers forged by people (tories) who want rid of the treaties (labour).

If Scotland is not in the EU or EEA then it is quite likely that the sale of tools from Scotland to the rump of the UK will be subject to import duties......

Actually they're made in Sheffield.
I'll be glad when the whole tedious issue is over and they've rebuilt Hadrian's wall.

Marc - the answer to your question is NO - an independent Scottish Government would have to revisit all of these treaties and decide whether to sign up or not.

So if there is an independent Scotland not in the EU would a Scot living in England need a Scottish Passport? Would someone born in England but living and working in Scotland need a work permit? One of the most ill thought out pieces of political band wagoning ever seen. Gods help the Scots if they vote for this just because like the rest of us they are pi.... off with our London centric Government.
