Need a drink...a) to celebrate the retirement of said World Cup prediction octopus but mainly b) because a good mate of mine is in intensive care after crashing his horse and is in an induced coma...poor sod....see what rabbit holes can do? Happened on the first of July and I have only just found out!:0
Other down side is that he was supposed to be taking me in his flying taxi out to the Thungrian forest at the end of the month for some research...damn, damn and double, triple damn...with a bloody good festival thrown in to boot. Quadruple damn.
...but then again, I'm not the one on a ventilator:face-crying:

Good lord, sorry to hear that about your friend. I've had a few nasty times when out riding, but nothing more serious than a broken tooth and losing a chunk of hair when tangled in a branch at a canter when the horse decided to take an 'alternate' route. Induced comas are sometimes a good thing, giving the body a chance to recuperate without being distracted by everything around them.
Drink for you and one for your friend and one for anyone else who needs it. Makes my weekend seem small potatoes comparatively.

Our weekend was crap but on the Spinal Tap scale, it was only a 7 rather than an 11. We're in Leeds tomorrow at the IMC, which is nice. I love the room with all the booksellers!

I need a pint!
Bought a second hand bed of gumtree this evening. Before purchase I checked with the owner that it took a standard sized double mattress, he's says yep. So drive out to collect it, it's dismantled so can't see it in it's glory.
Get home, build it, brilliant looks great, put mattress on, turns out the bed is three inches longer and an inch wider than the mattress. Grrr
