Web Award - VOTE HERE - BAJR Host - 16th August 2008 Well... by a BIG margin, the award goes to Jean and her http://www.buildinghistory.org site. will have to start making a list of sites... congrads. For my part, it is the depth of information available, when dealing with such a subject it can be easy to get lost, but simplicity is often the best path. It is true about serif/san serif - however, for shear bursting at the seams joy. It has to be Building History. Sorry to Orkneyjar - but never say never. Poor show for Oxford. (would be intersting to know why) So ... any thoughts about the next award... I kind of agree that it should be like for like type of sites... SO!! New Media it is.. starting with - http://www.preservationtoday.com any other similar sites? "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Web Award - VOTE HERE - Jean M - 16th August 2008 Thank you so much to those who voted for my site. I am delighted that it is seen as useful to archaeologists, when I only cover stuff still standing. After Kevin Greene placed a link to an earlier incarnation of my site from an earlier incarnation of his online companion to Archaeology: An Introduction I developed creeping anxieties. People came wandering into the place looking for information on Iron Age round houses. I expected large-scale disappointment from the archaeological community, if not actual hissing and booing. Web Award - VOTE HERE - RedEarth - 16th August 2008 Quote:quote: I think the fact that it's called 'exploring the human journey' is a bit off-putting and slightly pretentious and/or suggests that they somehow have a monopoly on the subject. Other than that it's a perfectly good site. |
