Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 16th October 2008 OG.. without wanting to say too much, the shiny polishing of helmets is discouraged, however, I am sure they could source them. Don't give them ideas though..! As I now expect to see shiney anti goblin helmets appearing soon. I am glad this has all become good natured.. and quite amusing... they look forward to many years of competition ... :face-huh: better get Maggie on to sourcing cheap HSE compliant Neoprene (wipe clean surface for stubborn pixie stains, just for you Vulpes... got the message.. Mums the Word :face-approve: ) "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 16th October 2008 Had a couple of emails and a telephone conversation concerning this. and feel I have a duty to be a bit more serious again. http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:ai2w-zFw6fcJ:www.archtools.absolutewebhosting4.co.uk/index.asp+archtools&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=18&gl=uk Above: a cache of the front page before they took off my own personal tool roll image (note myLeafblade and trowel are used): Lets look at their version... hmmm look kinda similar!! I have now received emails telling me that : Quote:quote:the WHS Trowel and Photo Scales.. These are all individually created content..and Quote:quote: I have closely studied your images compared to one we use on our site and they are indeed totally different.... and will provide proof in court... lets see then shall we - using the magic of computers.. His version.. our friends actual product As he said... "I have closely studied your images compared to one we use on our site and they are indeed totally different...." look pretty similar to me! :face-thinks: his totally unique version (though rotated and tinted a bit) and er... my trowel! same light highlights.. same woodgrain same TROWEL! His reply remember "The trowel is also a unique image taken in a photo-tent. If you feel that it resembles yours, then that is only a coincidence.. " This is only a small fraction of the problems that seem to be emerging... this is not about being pissed off about a trowel photo here or there.. nothing so petty.. it is about the dishonest replies... it is about the info that is coming into me... I can't tell people anything other than ... these people have a way to go before I even consider thinking about them.... If people want to buy tools from them... feel free.. If you want to go on an excavation with them... it is your choice ... I certainly won't as a personal choice. And indeed I am getting a bit hot about some companies that feel they can take the p#ss. The Tax on accomodation company.... the self employed diggers company... perhaps its time :face-huh: If people have nothing to hide... I am sure they won't mind? "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 16th October 2008 xxxx.... i luv u! I am not worried. I am more worried about another Get-A-Trowel / Archaeology Cymru senario "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Another Get-A-Trowel? - RedEarth - 16th October 2008 Ahh, the magic of the internet. You can pretty much say what you like and describe yourself in the most glowing terms but everyone else can just as easily respond, and point out exactly where you stole all your images from. Democracy in action, or something... Don't get me started on the numerous deluded types claiming to be be the formost authority on x when they have virtually no experience in anything. Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 16th October 2008 They are legion... and often quite vicious (and use big words badly) in defence :0 Gawd bless em... "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Another Get-A-Trowel? - Oxbeast - 17th October 2008 If only they were as good at spelling as at thieving other peoples images, it might be quite a good site. The jobs section is total cobblers though. I see they have removed BAJR from their list fo affiliates... Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 17th October 2008 The jobs section is total cobblers though (and...er... was the IFAs own JIS - they have been informed ) At my request the link was removed... I did not want BAJRs name associated It is a fine line to walk, for me, as David I was p#ssd at the blatant image theft (and baffling denials), I was annoyed on behalf of others who had content and images taken... I was not too worried at the job section, - that's fair enough.. (even if part of the content was JIS) and could even by pleased at the compliment of using the same RSS feeds and search terms as BAJR has. (Coincidence I am sure) As BAJR however, it is part of my duty to protect (perhaps sometimes my cape is too frayed and my pants of righteousness too tight)... BUT... at the end of the day, If I have concerns, its not because I worry about Past Horizons losing the sale of a few trowels or for any personal reasons, it is because of discussions with people and organisations who have known them and the actions that have taken place now. They are not bad people at all - they have however started out on the wrong foot , and instead of taking a deep breath, have gone for the "brazen it out and deny everything" senario - even if this looks more and more unsure. They want to come here and defend themselves - I seriously don't believe it would make any difference. It takes time to build a new business and time to build relationships. Lets see what time shows. They have said they are "Currently awaiting Charity Status Approval and recognition from the CBA" so lets take them at their word, and wish a community project luck. "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Another Get-A-Trowel? - Unitof1 - 17th October 2008 I cant find the scales photo, and it would be nice if they had a scale with them, but it does look like this could be a case of convergent evolution. You start thinking pyramid, start at the base, then find a pattern but then at the last step towards the peak you throw it in reverse. Pretty odd if you ask me. Please, the second scale up must be flipped for order to return to the markets. Another Get-A-Trowel? - oldgirl - 17th October 2008 I happen to have seen kevin from CatCo yesterday, so I've pointed him towards this thread too. Another Get-A-Trowel? - BAJR Host - 17th October 2008 Good... I should perhaps give him a call.. "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers |
