BAJR Federation : Second Draft - chiz - 19th December 2008 Quote:quote:Originally posted by BAJR Host do you mean freelance/short term specialists, rather than all osteo's/surveyors/ceramicist/illustrators including those on permanent contracts? i.e. the main criteria for full membership is not being a permanent staff member? Still a bit confused! BAJR Federation : Second Draft - Oxbeast - 19th December 2008 My contracts got another 10 months to run, which I suppose is short term. Its a lot more short term than my mortgage anyway. BAJR Federation : Second Draft - BAJR Host - 19th December 2008 I feel we are already in the main debate.. adn one that needs quickly and reasonably hammered out... Everyone can be a member... However, the point of this is to represent those who (for whatever reason ) are currently in a state of non-representation... freelancers, sole traders, short term contract workers etc... so to be fair - it can be said that those who have 'permanent' employment, who have pension rights, paid holidays etc... who can be a member of a union or who are in an RO or can have their IfA subs paid by their employers are already in a position of representation... HOWEVER... BF is not meant to be an exclusive club - as the ideas and the experieince of the many is of great importance. Think of it this way.... the Liberals don't vote on Labour Party issues (that affects just them) -- however everyone has a vote on parlimentary policy.. (that affects everyone) "Gie's a Job.." Prof. 'Dolly' Parton BAJR Federation : Second Draft - Austin Ainsworth - 19th December 2008 Perhaps "short term contract workers" could be changed to fixed term contract workers, that would also pull in those people on 12-18 month contracts such as community heritage officers, etc, who might otherwise feel that the term only referred to field staff. BAJR Federation : Second Draft - Dirty Dave Lincoln - 21st December 2008 So, with the new ideas when do we get to see the BF third draft? PS Don't forget about the charity song-even though it wont be out to make the Christmas number 1. BAJR Federation : Second Draft - BAJR Host - 21st December 2008 3rd draft will be basically the last and final one before launch... January 2009 and then.... it will be up to members to decide on finer points such as voting... structure of council .... requirements of membership ............ "Gie's a Job.." Prof. 'Dolly' Parton |
