Sad News - BAJRs Mother has gone - BAJR Host - 7th June 2009

Funeral is Monday at 3:30 give her a thought then. and too all those that have passed away and we miss.

thanks to everyone who both knew her or have just kindly sent words of comfort. I am feeling mucgh better now... and will move forward, with her memories.

She used to tell me of nursing D-Day casualties when she was a nurse in WWII - one story always made me think... and perhaps it is where I get my determination from. There was a dance at the local hall for GIs and three of them were black americans. nobody would dance with them, so my mother strode across.. and in her words, "boy, did I get the best deal, three of the best dancers there, and all to myself!"

Unconventiaonal, unafraid, determined and caring... that's my Mum. Bless her!

The final music I have chosen for her funeral is this one - cos she loved to jive, and it brings back this story when she did what others would not.

I love Glen Miller music.
Should have everyone tapping their feet at the funeral.
I used to play trumpet in a big band myself.
Great stuff.
