I've been working in the field since August with no chance of internet access so I've found the changes on BAJR a little bewildering. It took me (total technophobe) 3 or 4 attempts to re-register and I'm still trying to find where the usual "ranters" gather.

I'm really sorry David but I don't like this new set up. It just appears over complicated and not really user friendly. I don't understand the function of "groups" when there could just be threads, and I don't see why you have to join a group to discuss things. Why can't we all just be polymaths like before?
Again sorry but I liked the old set up and as a user couldn't really see what was wrong with it. The cropping of my avatar on this site seems quite symbolic.

I don't really see the point of groups either, Steven. Part of the fun of the old BAJR was reading a discussion about a subject which you didn't really know much about, and learning something from it. Also, most of the point of having facebook-style social networking seems to be lost when about half of the users want to stay anonymous.

Just think of it as turning up to a party a little bit early. There might not be that many here, but there?s plenty of space to stretch out and get your freak on. Bajr Behemoth may feel cavernous, but it?s not really that different from the old place. There were plenty of forum cul de sacs there too (where only the mental ventured).
If you don?t want to join a group ? don?t join it. If you do, do. If you own a group, do something cool with it that makes people want to keep coming back. It doesn't take an ex-navy seal who also cooks to know that in this as in most things, you only get out what you put in. So say it loud and say it proud. Bajrfed. F**K YEAH!

indeed now from the main BAJR site, (just as before) you can click forum and get taken right here. then you can sign in... and paff.. come back here (stopping only to glance at what else is going on - if you want) You are in this forum, and it is simple, stripped down and feature rich. So... if you don't want to get involved in the groups or put up pictures or videos then don't do it. However, if you do, then it is there for you. IF you just want the forum... well here it is.
You only have to come here.

Indeed this thread shows that it is easy to use this forum... and it it can sustain debate. So go on... give it a go.
As for the BAJRFed system... well, thats up to you... the place is made for you to use... if you wnat to.
I personally go to the dashboard to get all I need to know about whats happening where.. an event, a job a new group topic or a forum post. I guess I am used to it now.
I hope you will to.
As to the Digger... slightly unfair.. however, I have heard that it is working on a bombshell. (I was asked to comment) And unlike some groups... it does try... rather than talk about trying :face-confused:

On a slightly different topic, I think that the groups could be more user-friendly. I've joined several, but would like to know in an easily-visible way when there are new posts or topics being added.
The moon on a stick would be nice, too!

No, no, no. Your thinking John McLane but this is plainly a Stephen Seagal moment. Sure, Mclane?s a maverick, but that guilt thing about not spending more time with his wife/daughter would really get in the way of appreciating the new Bajrfed website, especially if they were being held hostage by Britarch.
