Indeed, though that may be covered in the replacement Planning guidance (replacing PPG 16)
I can see that one consequence of the Bill is that LPAs are going to be 'burdened' with need to deal with Heritage Asset consents and we may well see the exacerbated lumping together of Building Conservation and Archaeology in individual officers,where archaeology tends to suffer as poor relation.

Hummm... do I sense a conservation officer 'trying' to give archaeology advice... if the LPAs are to be required to give Asset consent... where does that cash come from?
Do we (as a general forum) have any particluar comments / queries and the like that can be asked?

One thing I didn't realise, which has a bearing on earlier contributions to this discussion, is that the bill as published is incomplete. The version introduced to Parliament for debate will apparently include more on Conservation Areas and Local Designation.
