So am I getting a report that no Irish wages have gone up at all?
There have been no pay rises in Ireland... surely this is not good.... or reasonable.

Annual inflation stands in the region of 4 to 5%, depending on how it is calculated. I don't know whether other companies have given pay rises or not - I'm assuming we're all in the same boat.

I've just been given a 4% which I'm more than happy with as I was expecting 2.
1% comes from a profit sharing scheme for this coming year so we've had it early. The company expects to make a profit!

The unit I work for is a trust and has told us we wont be getting a pay rise this year. Our pay rise last year was 9 months late and not paid to any staff who had left.
So i'm definately in support of molas - i wish we had more union membership and people prepared to stand up and be counted- Good on you Molas

Well said Trowelfodder,more union membership and people prepared to stand up and be counted is needed.I just wonder though how a union can help diggers who are only on temporary contracts?and isn't it about time we had a union that was solely for archaeologists?both permanent and temporary members of staff.
As for the 10 minute solidarity action,when I mentioned it on Friday one PO said "not on my site,unless you do it at 10.30am"-the start of our teabreak!

Have sent my message of support.
As a long standing Prospect member (and former MoLAS union officer), I feel that MoLAS are leading for all of us here and their struggle is ours.
Although I can't be directly involved in the day (currently surveying cleared forestland in Norway), I will make a token stoppage at 10.30 UK time and will be donating an hours pay to a Norwegian human rights campaign group.
