Perhaps we could organise some sort of team building exercise as part of the conference. Get a representative group of delegates, set them various led and unled command tasks, and see if they can reach solutions. Good for co-operation, leadership dvelopment etc..

Sounds good to me; I like the idea of a BAJR team-building exercise, or even of a team badger-building exercise.

Just back off site. Hell of a lot going on on all the threads! I like the idea of meeting fellow BAJR posters for a conference and p***-up, providing were not all in archaeo-prison by then.
Might I suggest a masked ball so us posters with stage-names dont have to reveal our identities.

Yes-the first BAJR conference will be happening! Am looking at late 2006 and in the process of considering venues to offer to the subscribers for comment. My main concern at the moment is the distinct lack of input on BAJR from field archs/students. Whilst it is extremely good news that BAJR Baiting is now visited by archs of all/most flavours, I feel that we seem to have lost the plot. One critiscism from a unit Director and all of a sudden, the site is filled with happy-slappy picnic conversation.I for one could`nt give a rats arse for confectionary, grammar competitions and BAJR dating. British commercial archaeology has some pretty serious flaws. Lets get some work done.I welcome ALL to a serious dialogue aimed at setting in stone-a workable agenda for our first conference.Over to you.

Very true Troll.... hence the new forum section for discussion of flaws, problems etc etc and the solutions.
Rather than just a Grumble Mill, BAJR has the potyential to be a Solution Factory....

The conference will be a very important [part of this process... already people take notice. More dialogue... more presentations... over to the Solutions Forum

yep,Troll, agreed. Lost it's edge a bit lately hasn't it? I'm struggling to contribute to the love-fest, but can't quite bring myself to spoil it.

Of course, there is always a place for excellent humour and bizarre digression-I indulge when I can but, there`s plenty of work to be done first methinx.

Thankyou Merc.It has to be said in all honesty that any progress is mostly thanx to mister BAJR and his staff.Without a voice,silence prevails.BAJR subscribers take time out to get involved-at times, risking their jobs.I think as time has gone on, we have collectively gone from shouting to discussion and I for one have learnt a great deal from everyone on here. There is still a long way to go but,I`m constantly inspired by everyones zeal and passion for their chosen careers.After all, BAJR subscribers simply want change.It seems that change will only come about if we become the catalysts for that change.I take my hat off to BAJR, his staff and all the subscribers who have brought us this far.Lets see what we can do with our first conference.I look forward to meeting you all.
