Why'd you think we have all the ISO numbers etc, works a treat...and rather proves the point, they're looking at 'ticks' on the headed paper, and just assume they've been checked by someone independent and impartial and who knows what they're talking about, who's going to check the new Chartered IfA's standards, who actually understands them ? Presumably from IfA's point of view it could only be a, errr, a chartered archaeologist...

I shall watch developments with interest. I hope, for the sake of archaeology and all who work within the industry, those vociferous members of the CIfA manage to steer it in a direction that gives the rest of us some confidence in it. They have much work to do though.
