Thankyou Mr Hosty-nice and clear.This is a good thread-it does need airing too.Tiz bad enough that we seem to have had all of our rights put aside in the UK by a government that uses weapons of mass deception as a Trojan horse with which to institute creeping totalitarianism.Drug/toxin testing at work may have some merit but....lets discuss.....

Actually I am not challenged, I just happen not to take statistics that have been bandied about on this thread seriously unless substantiated with hard proof, as professional archaeologists I would have thought you would do the same.
The use of drugs is a serious issue in any profession, but again without proof that drugs are being used to the level indicated (or any level) then you are spouting hot air over nothing.
I see that you take exception to a non archaeologist being on the BAJR site Troll, though I like it here and intend to stay. I feel I have every right to be here being as I belong to a community that comes under close scrutiny from the archaeological sector. Whether you like it or not metal detecting has a contribution to make and I intend to make it.
Some archaeologists are more than welcome on the detecting site I belong to and have built up a heck of a lot of respect on their time spent there.
Yes I advertise my business same as getatrowel does and as the owner of this site has expressed no concerns to date, I will continue to do so.

Could`nt care less for your stated aims and objectives and frankly-the metal detecting issue is entirely irrelevent in this context.I object in the strongest possible terms to someone-anyone-suggesting that I "chill out and skin up". I have made my feelings clear to Mr Hosty on this issue-by the way-he`s the man that decides whether or not you stay on his website-not you.

Ok, joking aside, perhaps it could be explained to an outsider, a member of the public and co share holder in the countries heritage why the overall care of our Nations heritage should be left to a profession that self confesses that 50% or higher of its practictioners are drug abusers.
Perhaps also this fact should be made public to wider audience for their views.
