Just to throw another spanner in the works... as an itinerant geophysicist the issue of PPE has I think been overlooked in this thread. Non-mag boots, clothing are essential for magnetometry but tend to pay through the nose for the right equipment. BACA are pretty good but would be interested to hear of other sources.

Bl?klader, who do the fab kilts mentioned earlier - and are indeed Swedish), do women's trousers at least - a bit longer in the body and smaller in the waist.
But their jackets are still 'one shape fits everyone' style, so I have a jacket (fleece lined mmmmm) that fits over the hips while the cuffs dangle by my knees......

You're probably aware of Altberg, who do nice bomb disposal boots. Unfortunately they're about 160 quid and are made to order, tales about 6 weeks to 2 months. I use non-mag boots from Goliath - they don't retail but you can order on-line from suppliers, from stock, listed on the Goliath website. I think the reference is UP110 or something. They're about 40 quid, and cover the ankle. The Altberg boots are the high leg sort (no not thigh length).
Both manufacturers are googleable.

I will explain she does mean At this particular time all companies are looking closely at their day to day costs. In particular the costs of workwear clothing and PPE has recently risen dramatically. Much of this rise stems from rising costs in the far east and recent rises in cotton and oil prices.
