IfA Recession Seminar - drpeterwardle - 4th March 2009 Have read the report it all seems very sensible and useful. Thanks to the IFA for organising this and getting the report out within 2 weeks. Peter IfA Recession Seminar - Sparky - 4th March 2009 I think its spot on. Well done! I'll eat my hat and also praise Peter Hinton for his summation, particularly the following: 'Other messages included the need to pursue current efforts to gain government support for skills retention, training and development in the profession, as well as the need to maintain standards and to maximise public benefit. In terms of planning, pressure will be maintained to ensure that the historic environment is provided for, while acknowledging that it will not be allowed to stand in the way of major projects. Accreditation agenda is being encouraged by EH in order to maintain standards. Self regulation won?t be enough ? we need to look to the demand more ? convince our clients of the importance of standards. Work together, incentivise good practice and look after our people.' Very inspiring and encouraging! S IfA Recession Seminar - monty - 4th March 2009 I agree totally...very encouraging ......and something all the IfA bashers should read !! IfA Recession Seminar - Paul Belford - 4th March 2009 Good to see - well done IfA. Paul Belford IfA Recession Seminar - BAJR Host - 5th March 2009 IfA bashers ![]() ![]() perhaps now, the IfA and BAJR (the new BAJR Federation) can put aside these past differences and work well together. It is a very encouraging document, and will need to be followed up with real action. Action I would support 100%, and hope you all would too. Remember though that a strong organisation can take having a mirror held up to it, I personally have grown as a person over the past 10 years, with BAJR, being pulled up, having my mistakes pointed out, and having some nasty things thrown in my direction, --- the mark of a real organisation is to look at critisisms and ask why.. and then if there are real concerns.. to take it on the chin, admit mistakes and get on. Another word for those who have battered and done there best to take out BAJR over the past decade... not bashers.. but helpers.. who make BAJR what it is now.. the same can be said for the IfA. Much of what is said is perhaps misplaced, or misunderstood.. and the IfA will have learned lessons from it... as to ignore or stifle any form of critisism is to listen only to 'good news'. THis forum allows for free open and frank debate like no other... and thus praise can be given and critisism also in equal measure without accusation of bashing. Well done IfA - It would be intersting to see if the IfA would praise BAJR ![]() ?When a sinister person means to be your enemy, they always start by trying to become your friend.? William Blake |
