" because the dc would screw me with the wsi." > how is that even possible ? - extra harsh conditions ? what ? .... yet again i just do not understand you (i hope your reports read better...)
How is it that you are not able to discuss sensibly with 'the dc'(?), from a position of Knowledge about the archaeology and methods ? ?
Or, Do you just mean 'the dc'(?) wanted different things to you? Because that would be called oversight Marc, on behalf of the rest of us who might have interest in what you find for your client :/

Are standards slipping ? > Not on my watch ! > with absolutely no help what-so-ever from the laughable cIFA.
Have standards improved in ten years ? > No, not at all (thanks a million cIFA)

Had an oversighty-type archaeology person ask me on Friday what the point was of sticking cremations (of the burnt-person-and-other-bits-mixed-with-soil variety) through a siraf.... :face-crying:

Good grief, supervisors now only need 12 months experience (see current Headland job ad)....yup, obviously standards are slipping, time was when you had to have done more than that just to be an 'experienced digger'...

It is but the nature of a boom (based on banks giving money to idiots). What will also start happening is that you will do wsis for jobs but the developer won't be able to get any builders in and will string you along with it might start next week stories. People might like to consider charging booking fees. By the way Booking fees are exempt vat. Personally I think that if you have a degree (bsc) in archaeology you should direct.

...has an 'Hons' after it, if that helps?
Never bothered with the MA/PhD stuff, smacks of trying to string it out for another few years and avoid the real world...anyway, finding new stuff's much more fun
