Khufu Wessex Pottery ID Sheets - Unitof1 - 11th July 2008 What no shell included (or tempered) domesticated been in a lot of fires ware or salt glaze. My brick of the week has a green glaze on it I am hoping that its 15th century but if its not I will have to sort/sought out my watching brief discard policy (will obviously need an evaluation first) I have recently got into looking for those bits of clay tobacco pipe stem with glaze on for something to do. Does any body know when that first started (apparently), putting glaze on the tip(is it lead based?) when it was likely to be broken off and then another bit was and another or are we looking at a single it all shatters into lots of little pipe stem bits which you just have to pick up and then look at the bore diameter. The whole pipe stem breaking off a bit at a time is a mystery to me. |
