Horn core pit is pretty damn cool.... just imagine excavating and cleaning that!!! Anyone know who did it?

The pit in question is one of many found at the Prescot Street site - and was dug by our Gary who wrote about it here:http://www.lparchaeology.com/prescot/journal/drain-drain-go-away - more of images of the horn core pits can be found on the website http://www.lparchaeology.com/prescot. The use of horn core as a building material seems logically to be related to the amount of hornworking workshops in the Whitechapel area of East London in the 18th century, and were associated with small-scale craft use or used as cess pits.
