Web Award - VOTE HERE - BAJR Host - 7th August 2008 3 very different sites, three different approaches, from corporate to individual, from local to national. Can we have votes for the following: Look at it, in terms of how long you find yourself on the site, how much you learn, how much you enjoyed being there, and if you think, I will be back here, I will bookmark this, I will tell others about it.... http://www.orkneyjar.com/ http://thehumanjourney.net/ http://www.buildinghistory.org Web Award - VOTE HERE - historic building - 7th August 2008 Building History by a massive way. For someone, in their own time, to create such an extensive and useful index of material is an amazing achievement. Web Award - VOTE HERE - Gilraen - 7th August 2008 Not overly keen on the font on the Building History website. Web Award - VOTE HERE - BAJR Host - 7th August 2008 try clicking the easy read in top right corner.. very thoughtful.. "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Web Award - VOTE HERE - Jean M - 7th August 2008 Clicking "easy read" won't change the font itself, I'm afraid - only its size and colour. The font is just a standard serif which will appear as Times New Roman on most computers, which generally have that font installed. Gilraen - presumably you would prefer sans-serif? It is considered easier to read online. I use it here: http://www.buildinghistory.org/Jean/ . Serif seemed somehow more appropriate for discourse on the past, but I'm open to persuasion. Thanks for the feedback. Web Award - VOTE HERE - BAJR Host - 7th August 2008 looks liek you are doing well anyway :face-approve: "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Web Award - VOTE HERE - Gilraen - 8th August 2008 Yes, a sans serif would be good - easier to read through quickly/skim with that kind of font I think. Times New Roman is a bit old and traditional now (we have even ditched it for our reports). Georgia is a good font for web-sites if you wanted to keep the same style. Web Award - VOTE HERE - BAJR Host - 8th August 2008 Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Georgia I like... classy "I don't have an archaeological imagination.." Borekickers Web Award - VOTE HERE - Jean M - 8th August 2008 No sooner suggested than tried. You may need to refresh to see the new font. Web Award - VOTE HERE - Digitaldigging - 8th August 2008 The new Georgia looks good - very readable. Ain't CSS a marvelous thing? |
