As the number of jobs on BAJR (and elsewhere) dwindles - I am also hearing that many companies are never busier.. in fact I have it on good authority that some companies are turning down tenders.

Confidence is all though... and BAJR is needing support too.

If you do have jobs, and do want to show the world that you are not only surviving, but doing well... then consider advertising with BAJR.

This will have the effect of boosting confidence and helping BAJR survive these next few months.

Assuming this isn't a April Fool, it does make one suspicious about the reason they are not advertising on BAJR... perhaps not meeting pay levels and conditions perhaps and relying on the fact that there are plenty of unemployed archaeologists probably desparate to get a job. Call me a cynic...

I knew I should not have put this up today!

But no April Fool.. Sad just reality.

I would be sure that they would not be paying less.. just don't feel they have to.. after all, you could just pick up a phone and call in the 40 people you have just laid off Smile

I understand why, but

a) need help!
b) need people to show confidence in the market

It could also be that existing employees are being redistributed around different departments but within the same company - e.g. a finds specialist (who might not be doing anything chargable) being sent out on a watching brief etc

I think part of it will be redistribution of staff.. and working with what you have.. I am looking forward to the next survey... which may show some surprising results (touch wood!)
