Geophysical survey - Beanie - 23rd April 2009 Hi all I'm new to this site. I am a student and have a question regarding geophysical survey, as I have been offered a training day doing this. I have 2 titanium screws in my foot and wanted to know if I can still learn how to carry out a geophysical survey. Many thanks. Geophysical survey - Digitaldigging - 23rd April 2009 hi Beanie - welcome to the site - did you mean will the equipment pick up the titanium in your foot? Geophysical survey - Beanie - 23rd April 2009 Yes, sorry, should have been a little clearer with this. But I am a newbie. Geophysical survey - mattockman - 23rd April 2009 You will be fine with resistivity. Its magnetomeetry where it could be an issue Geophysical survey - Beanie - 23rd April 2009 Thanks very much for that. That's good to know, I was really looking forward to it. Geophysical survey - Plautus - 23rd April 2009 I don't think it would be a problem. I'm sure i've done magnetometry surveys wearing steelies before now...... I can't remeber if the result were any good though.....:face-huh: Geophysical survey - Beanie - 23rd April 2009 Thanks very much, I was worried as I forgot all about it until today and thought oh yes ... Geophysical survey - kevin wooldridge - 24th April 2009 I dont really know what a 'titanium screw' is terms of how much titanium it contains, but surely pure titanium is non-magnetic so shouldn't affect a magnetometer survey With peace and consolation hath dismist, And calm of mind all passion spent... Geophysical survey - Beanie - 24th April 2009 I just know it's classed as a surgical titanium screw and others at college wondered, as did I, if it would affect the results, but I believe it may be similar to what dentists use also. Thanks very much for your help. Geophysical survey - BAJR Host - 24th April 2009 Let us know how it goes...
