New Festival website launched - danhull@britarch.ac.uk - 16th June 2009 The Council for British Archaeology has launched a new Festival of British Archaeology website: http://www.archaeologyfestival.org.uk The countdown has begun to this annual event, taking place between July 18 and August 2. The new website puts the public directly in touch with the archaeology happening in their area through a handy Google Maps facility. Users can enter their postcode and display the exhibitions, excavations, guided walks, reenactments, demonstrations, lectures and more, and then download directions, times and any additional information. A much-improved press and media section gives lots of background information and pictures, and an organisers? section provides individual event holders with lots of advice and poster templates to help them market their events locally. Those interested as either an organiser or a visitor can sign up to an eNewsletter and an RSS feed, keeping them in touch both in the run-up to the Festival, and afterwards as plans for take shape for 2010. Enjoy - and tell us what you think! New Festival website launched - RedEarth - 16th June 2009 Hi, I tried looking at the site yesterday and for some reason the map showing 'what's on' won't load (I assume it's a map). I've tried it again just now and it's doing the same. Is it just me? New Festival website launched - danhull@britarch.ac.uk - 16th June 2009 Sorry to hear you're having trouble RedEarth. Having navigated to the What's On page (http://www.archaeologyfestival/whatson), did you then click on 'Search for Events' and select what kinds of events you're interested in? It asks you to specify your postcode, then you click on the 'Find Events!' button and (hopefully) Bob's your uncle. You can then click on whichever events catch your eye and you'll get further details, or you can go back and do a different search. If this doesn't work, let me know. Dan.
