quickie funding - Troll - 20th January 2005 Anyone know of any funding opportunities that I can apply for on the quick? Have to fly out to Cyprus and examine newly excavated skellies from early BA rock-cut chamber tombs-bit of a pricey exercise for a digger![?] quickie funding - BAJR Host - 21st January 2005 Hey troll.... try these Society of Antiquaries of London: Tessa and Mortimer Wheeler Memorial Fund Established in memory of the late Mortimer Wheeler and the late Tessa Verney Wheeler as the result of a joint appeal by the British Academy and the Society of Antiquaries of London. The purpose of the Fund is to assist students of archaeology to gain experience in the field and grants will be made towards travel and other expenses. The closing date for applications is 31 December each year. Details and applications forms are available from the General Secretary, Society of Antiquaries of London, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1V 0HS. http://www.sal.org.uk/grants/tessamortimer.php The Prehistoric Society: research fund Grants from the general fund are to assist research into prehistoric archaeology in any part of the world. Open to Society members only. The Society does not normally consider funding long-term projects other than in their initial stages. Preference is likely to be given to smaller-scale projects which are less likely to attract significant support from major sources of funding. Grants will not normally be given for work directly related to a higher degree. The closing date is the first of January in each year. (curses missed!!!) Details from the Administrative Assistant, The Prehistoric Society, Institute of Archaeology, University College London, 31-34 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0PY.
