TV Terrors - trowelhead - 5th July 2005 I would be interested to know which, if any, archaeology shows you guys out there rate. I remember 10 years or so ago the Time Team was quite good and the excavations non sensationalist and what you saw is what you got, if they found nothing then that was the way it went in archaeology. Are you a Meet the Ancestors type or a 2 Men in a Trench type (sky) or are you higher brow a Timewatch or Horizon Fan perchance. Indeed do the beeb make any more of an impartial job of it. But please, please, please keep it to your selves if you were into the great Satan of archaeological TV that was??.. I can hardly bring myself to say it but here goes ?Extreme Archaeology? Aahhh god said! Sorry that was too much I gotta go and Vom![xx(] TV Terrors - Mtgorry147 - 5th July 2005 My god trowel, how could you even bring yourself to type those two words? [xx(] Its brought back too many bad memories. Oh no! I can hear the chainsaw starting to cut into the wooden post. aghh. TV Terrors - Curator Kid - 5th July 2005 Stargate SG-1 works wonders for me. I like watching archaeological sites getting blown up by big computer-generated alien spaceships. TV Terrors - Curator Kid - 5th July 2005 I don't think much of Relic Hunter on Sky though. It's absolute pants. TV Terrors - deepdigger - 5th July 2005 I like Two men in a trench(the programme Troll). Tony Pollard is a really nice guy and both of them come across as really honest and down to earth, the re-enactment bits of the programme could do with editing out though. deep TV Terrors - troll - 5th July 2005 What I want to know is this, how is it that when Julian Richards gives it the "now they have added the flesh tones...I feel I have really got to know this person.." bit, that the same soddin face stares out at us from the clay? Budget problems? Extreme arch` seems to me to have been a cheap excursion into the genre exploiting the wonders of blondes and their mammary glands. Two men and a trench really should re-think the ethics involved in diggin historical battle grounds...and for cryin out loud, buy a real van! I would really no-really, like to know how programme makers research an idea before filming.Who do they approach? Concept t.v is fine, would be nice to see a series that includes the sexy stuff archaeology can offer and, some well-overdue realities too....Best t.v archaeology if you`ll pardon the unintentional pun-Eddie Izzard. TV Terrors - deepdigger - 5th July 2005 I've told you before I'm not wearing a dress for anyone, well not in work anyway!! deep TV Terrors - sea-surgeon - 6th July 2005 "Hi, I'm a XXXX with piercings and this is a bird with dreadlocks, welcome to TV Archaeology." In my day, it was a funny hat, a stripy sweater or at worst, strange facial hair.
