IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - kevin wooldridge - 28th March 2006 It doesn't say, but I am guessing this offer is open only to IFA members... IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - BAJR Host - 28th March 2006 give em a phone.... you never know! Another day another WSI? IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - Weegie - 29th March 2006 Hullo Kevin. I've checked with the colleagues managing this post, and can confirm that while membership of IFA is 'desirable', it's not essential. IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - kevin wooldridge - 29th March 2006 Quote:quote:Originally posted by Weegie Thanks for checking. The original ad didn't make it clear and I would hate to think that anyone would be put off applying because they imagined they had to be 'pre-qualified' through IFA membership. Go for it I say, (if only to have the chance of living in Pompey for 11 months!!) IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - Matthew Ginnever - 29th March 2006 Any idea if this bursary is gonna be an annual thing? Got to wait to finish this darned degree before I can apply for such things IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - fsjbrown - 29th March 2006 I worked down in fort cumberland, after working on the badgers project with them. I heard rumours then that this maybe on again this year, so not sure if it will be an annual thing. However, Matthew if you need more archaeology experience, they offer trainee positions in field and finds/environmental (I did F/E) during their main summer excavations, worth trying for. IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - kevin wooldridge - 29th March 2006 Host, the advert for this position on the BAJR employment thread has 'n/a' in the salary box. Are we led to understand therefore that this bursary is actually unpaid? I thought when this scheme was first mooted the idea was that the pay would be at the same rate as other staff doing similar work in the same organisation. Tell me it's just an error on the advert....go on!! IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - Weegie - 30th March 2006 Kevin - it's just an error in the advert. My understanding is that salary for this post will be equivalent to ?14.2k pa, although secondments from other organisations are also possible. The Workplace Learning Bursaries are being run by IFA, and they hope (according to their website)to be able to offer 8-10 placements per year. There is some information about this on the IFA website under training, although it does not seem to have been updated recently. I understand that this scheme will run for three years, but again watch the IFA website for definitive information. In addition to this, we hope to be running the field training posts that fsjbrown mentions again this year, although that will depend (as ever) on there being suitable field projects to run these on. Always happy to introduce people to the delights of sunny Pompey, although the successful candidate may have to endure a couple of weeks in the Scillies if they're appointed in time. Cheers, Weegie IFA Workplace Learning Bursary - BAJR Host - 30th March 2006 thats right.... have sorted the advert as well.... 14200 pro rata for the 11 months Another day another WSI? |
