Wages - Again... - Curator Kid - 13th June 2006 Mr. Hosty, I notice that the Curatorial Officers' jobs being advertised by the ADS in York are graded as level 6, but the pay is only £20,044 - UKP 22,289 p.a., which is below the BAJR minimum of £20,895 for this grade. } Wages - Again... - BAJR Host - 13th June 2006 complicated answer to that... dealing with the curse of the academic payscale. I have quite a bit of trouble with this, and will have to be part of a drive to bring academic, local govt, private sector and museum based payscales into a single scale. like trying to juggle jelly this... as academic insitutions have strict pay guidelines... which often conflict with me. If I am happy however that the applicant will be above the required level then thats fine... (but this is only in very very rare instances.) So it is a grade 6 job... though one could say that a really really good G5 person who is nearly ready to become G6 could do the job too.. (which is the other way to look at it) However the ADS would prefer to have a person on G6. These are rare occurrances.. fear ye not. Well spotted though B) Another day another WSI?
