New short courses in Cardiff Area - BAJR Host - 30th October 2009 http://www.classicaleducationforum.co.uk/ http://www.bajr.org/BAJREducation/images/141.jpg According to the blurb.. The Classical Education Forum aims to provide a range of Humanities and Modern Language courses through weekly lectures, Saturday Schools and trips. We have been providing Saturday Schools for nine months and are now expanding the range substantially. This expansion has been propelled forwards by the situation at Cardiff University?s Centre for Lifelong Learning where Humanities course are coming under the axe for the next academic year. As a lecturer at LEARN for the last sixteen years I decided to bring such courses into the community by using three centres in Cardiff including Whitchurch, Thornhill and Llandaff North. Our mission is to provide a range of courses in Humanities taught by professional lecturers and post-graduate students to all who are interested for self-improvement, relaxation and fun. We have endeavoured to keep the costs down and our doors are open to all irrespective of educational background and disabilities. Liz Mayor (Senior Lecturer) New short courses in Cardiff Area - Bier Keller - 1st November 2009 What would really sell the courses is a mention of the fact that Cardiff/Caerdyff has some of the best night life and pubs West of the Urals. That is a fact, written in stone when the earth was young and a career in arcaheology but a dream (to this day, I would love to have something that you could call call a career in archaeology without being sued over the trade descriptions act ). Tip: try the Brains SA Beer, its really very good. Joking aside (not that I was joking about the Brains SA), I would say that Cardiff is a great spot to improve your skills and increase your knowledge...these folk know their onions. If you are working or living in the area, then give them a go. I only wish I could have done this when I lived there. New short courses in Cardiff Area - BAJR Host - 2nd November 2009 Praise indeed. It is good to see people not just standing by as courses close... as the demand is still there. Archaeology is more than just archaeology - it is a method of learning and a fun one at that. |
