I just noticed that Cotswold Arch are advertising on Bajr a job with a unusually long working week. I quote
"All payscales quoted are annual equivalents based on a 37.5 hour week, although one of our projects will require staff to work 11 hour days Monday to Friday (at flat rate) and 8 hours on a Saturday (at 1.5 x hourly rate)"
This adds up to a 55 hour working week over 5 days, or 63 hours over 6. I just thought that anyone applying for this job should be aware that the maximum legal working week is actually 48 hours, (averaged over a 17 week period) and that if their employer want them to work longer hours they need to sign a specific waver form. Essentially you would be agreeing to work 25 hours extra a week for standard pay.
I'm not saying don't apply for the job, I'm just reminding people of their legal rights as an employee.

Indeed the reason it is there, is because I took the time to talk with Cotswold. they are indeed aware of the WTD and will not be forcing people to work - indeed it is explained when you contact them for an application. Apologies I should have said earlier. This however is part of the service you get from BAJR... adverts you can (mainly) trust. I also confirmed the weekly rate will be well in excess of 500 quid a week. so could be worth a short burst of energy... I have done that in the past... hard damn work.. but you are so tired at the end of the day, you go straight to bed... and then at the end... you actually have a nest egg in the bank! Thanks for the reminder... but this is all happily taken care of.
and am sorry to say your maths is a bit wrong..
you would be working 55 hours a standard and 8 at time and a half. you would be working an extra 17.5 hours at standard rate

Cruel, was politely not pointing that out!
Am not sure your 'get rich quick, have a nest egg for later (maybe to buy a car....?)' is too popular these days (although I wholeheartedly agree), I've had jobs where people have been moping around in the accommodation over the weekend complaining about being broke, but when I've organised them some overtime no one has been interested (would rather spend their time wingeing than doing something about it), so I don't bother any more

Those sort of hours sounds like a pipeline. Is it safe to assume that they are actually working an 11 hour day, or is it a 12 hour day with no paid breaks?
It’s a bit harsh not being paid overtime for working beyond 8 hours each day but then again there was a recession on…
