Geoarchaeology - Dirty Boy - 7th May 2010
I'm looking to learn a bit more about geoarchaeology at the moment, as its one of those areas where I know a bit, but not as much as I'd like.
Does anyone know of any "geoarchaeology for dummies" books, as some of the scientific speak confuzzles me (damn taking all those pesky humanities subjects at A level, instead of sciences!)
Also, does anyone know about any courses that don't involve doing a degree?

No to all those questions, but.....if someone were to write a BAJR introductory guide....would be a very useful booklet...

We covered geoarchaeology in my course recently and the unit reading list recommendeds "Practical and Theoretical Geoarchaeology" by Paul Goldberg and Richard MacPhail.
Students include a raft of people on humanities rather than science-based archaeology courses (me included), and I've found it a useful primer.

Also, if you haven't already, take a look at the English Heritage guidelines http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/upload/pdf/Geoarchaeology-2007.pdf?1273329999
