The thread on Fraud and Plagiarism has been closed how can comments keep appearing. It is either closed to everyone or its open to everyone, this is not professional. As I can not reply directly to comments made, this is a baised situation.
I have agreed to making no more comments on this subject until Ofcom publish their report.

The double standards you talk about are basic Forum rules. Dr Wardle is a moderator, and I am... as you may have guessed the host. this is a BAJR Forum.
I have emailed you previously. It has been closed to non moderators. If you have anything further to say, then you direct it to me, though as you breached AUP - I am less likely to be sympathetic. info@bajr.org
I looked at the post before it was removed, and have to say you have little evidence - This is not to say that people can have good ideas which form the basis of further work, and what was once seen as impossible, slowly becomes accepted. However, If I was to count the number of times others have built on the work I and others have done I would soon run out of fingers. Ofcom will doubtless come up with the same reaction... So one last time.. (you see I am reasonable) watch what you type. You may feel aggrieved, but I don't like people hijacking this forum without damn good reason... and that involves talking to me. A courtesy that you have to consider.:face-confused:

What more can we say not one but two BAJR moderators looked at the allegations in detail and came up with the same conclusion. You posted on BAJR asking where you could complain to. You then broke the AUP policy by making allegations on BAJR.
David and myself spent some of our precious leisure time investigating your complaint and posted our conclusions on the locked thread. Allegations of this type are not the sort of thing we discuss on BAJR. Far from being biased I would suggest that we have been over reasonable to you and there are certainly no double standard just sensible moderation.

A question for Stephen......just looked at your 'treasure hunting glider website thing'. Whats your motivations for finding ancient sites? Once you've detected 'treasure' from the air, what follows?

For the record
One of the founders of that group would be in his 80s now if he was still alive. So technically it is possible.
I assume they were referring to TT generally, that would be correct.
The other Interpretation, they have been at it for a long time, that would be correct also.

I'm confused (probably my natural state...). Are you referring to "treasure" in the sense of the Treasure Act, although I don't see any connection with your little aeroplane, or are you using the term to describe sites of possible archaeological interest identified by AP? If so, may I ask why, as it seems a little odd? Is the purpose to identify such sites in order to then carry out a survey with metal detectors on the site?

Example 1
There are some mud flats that keep coughing up silver coins with the date 1600. Its very difficult to search this area so I'm building an boat 1m long which can tow barges with different detecting equipment. The best soultion I have at the moment is to mount a custom built 1m coil attached to a Minelab Sovereign metal detector. This gives discrimination between ferrous and none ferrous metals. Trying to overlap magnetometer readings with PI readings would be too difficult at present due to the lack of accuracy with cheap RTK systems. My intension if I find it is to call in the press and show it in situ the reason, to highlight the fragmented and ill functioning Archaeological system in France. I doubt it very much if anyone on this forum would know what the legal situation would be with such a find. It would be very difficult to find some one in France that knows the law either. The DRAC are supposed to enforce the law what ever it is? but it is not their jurisdiction, confused?
Example 2
There is a site that could be a Veneti and Roman harbour. I intend to survey that site with the mini survey vessel and post the results on a Google Earth type site. The GPS readings will probably be out in the Atlantic but it will be up for interpritation and open to Archaeologist to investigate that have a track record of knowing what References and Context mean.
I don't have time for example 3. Its interesting to develop new technology and investigate the past.

Wow a treasure map for the internet! Is this of previously unknown sites? That seems like a genius idea. Are you supplying people with the torches and shovels as well so that they have everything they need for the most effective nighthawking?

Now I'm really confused! Call me a bluff old traditionalist but I'd have thought that establishing the relevant laws, licencing requirements and whatnot of the country concerned would be pretty much the first thing to do. The implication in your post is that you are intending to deliberately and knowingly flout the law, but I do hope that I misunderstand. I also wonder rather what the point of it all is if you can't locate any anomalies due to the lack of a proper GPS, but again I may be totally misunderstanding.
Indeed, FedUp. This is partly why I was wondering about the term "treasure".
