Johnny Bute Bursary Programme 2011 - BAJR - 28th March 2011 Johnny Bute Bursary Programme 2011 As part of the Discover Bute Landscape Partnership Scheme (DBLPS) the Marquis of Bute, is kindly funding two further individual bursaries of ?500 each for students to develop research projects which focus on the archaeology of the Isle of Bute, Scotland. This will be administered thorough the Archaeological Research Programme. There are no set parameters for the scope of the research but proposals should be innovative and enhance knowledge of aspects of the archaeological record of Bute. In keeping with the spirit of the DBLPS potential applicants should also seek to include opportunities for the involvement of local volunteers in their projects where possible. Bursary holders will be required to complete their work and deliver a report to the ARP steering group within 1 year of award. A public presentation of the work at a venue on the island will also be required within the same timescale. Work which forms a component of wider research (ie PhD) will be considered. Final reports will be archived in Bute Museum as well as with the RCAHMS national monuments database and encouragement will be offered for publication in an appropriate venue. Proposals on no more than one side of A4 paper should be submitted either: by e-mail to Paul Duffy at discoverbutearchaeology@gmail.com or by post to Paul Duffy, Discover Bute Landscape Partnership Scheme, Eaglesham House, Mount Pleasant Road, Rothesay, Bute, PA20 9HQ. Potential applicants can also freely seek advice and discuss potential projects by contacting Paul Duffy at discoverbutearchaeology@gmail.com in the first instance. Deadlines for submissions is 24 April 2011 |
