Help identifying an item - Lee Bennett - 7th January 2013
Need help identifying this object please? Its seems to be stone but not 100% and says "Carlion" on, rest is unreadable.. Carlion seems to relate to king arthur? And picture looks like holy grail.. Found in garden in kent.
Is approx 35mm in diameter and about 2mm thick.
Have been googling for days now, finding nothing much really.

Not a coin. My guess would be a cloth seal or something similar. Maybe a trade token. PAS in Kent has lots of similar examples of agricultural product seals

Thanks, my very first thoughts was of a seal, but then went off that idea. Ok so is anywhere with reference to seals or tokens at all. Another picture here:

what is on the back, or is it the same both sides?
although the rest may be unreadable can you make out any of the letters?, and how many letters there are?

I am led to believe its the same on both sides, but i will take a closer look tonight myself. Its my young nieces find, i am being the curious internet savvy researcher. I will take a good look in person and take some more shots etc later.

Had a good like today, some better details from what i was told..
- Appears to be metal. possibly lead but not 100% sure (seems a little light for lead?) If scratch the back it is shiny
- Back is not the same but plain, and has 2 small lumps on it, maybe from where it was attached to something?
- Lower inscription has letters NATIO visible, but both sides in front and behind letters are unclear, maybe says "international"
- 35mm Diameter, about 2mm think
- So **maybe** says Carlion International?

Sounds like a button to me. The two bumps on the back are the remains of the thread loops. That large letter C logo on the front (indeed the whole thing) looks very modern. It's just very worn.
