University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - Bonesgirl - 8th January 2013 Gosh that was a mouthful just typing it! Hello BAJR peeps and a belated happy new year to you all. I'm posting an update to this event as a new thread as the original one seems to have been attacked and eaten by Christmas Gremlins! On the 23rd January 2013 - so in about two weeks time ... the University of Bradford is hosting an Employment/Graduate Event. All are welcome from students about to graduate to students who would like a chance to chat to people such as the main BAJR man himself down to York Archaeological Trust as well as students who are looking for some more experience in archaeology. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ATTENDING!!!! There nice and bold and clear for you all to see, so if you could help me spread the word around ... students from other universities are welcome. So far we have got the following speakers: BAJR Rob Janaway from the University of Bradford discussing Forensic Archaeology. Pete Connelly from York Archaeological Trust. There will also be speakers for Environmental Science peeps as well - though I haven't been involved in this side of the event and so cannot give details as to who there is - very sorry. When I do have this information I'll let you all know. At present we have a rough schedule and things look to be starting about 2pm - once the schedule has been confirmed I'll post a copy on here. As well as speakers we have claimed the student common room for the afternoon where in you shall find the following stands: Past Horizons Grampus - leaflets only but still plenty of useful information for people looking for more experience. A laptop which will hopefully display useful web links for students to look over, take details from and so forth. Museum Association - Again this is leaflet information but still good information. We will be encouraging speakers to mull around in the common room so that people can speak with them and get other information. There will be refreshments provided by the student body and these do carry a small charge - but might I say they do a good cup of tea! So there you have it ladies and gentlemen ... 23rd January 2013 University of Bradford. If anyone has any questions please do ask, I can also give directions and other location information. If there are any other associations or companies that would like a stand then please please feel free to ... there is plenty of room in the common room and I would encourage anyone who wishes to attend to do so. Just let me know before the 21st January so I can put you down on the map ... thank you! University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - pdurdin - 8th January 2013 Can you provide location information and directions please? I'm interested in attending but I'll need to know how to get there (I'll be catching a train from York, most likely). University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - Bonesgirl - 8th January 2013 Certainly Grab a train to Bradford Interchange. From here you have two options: 1) Grab a free bus which will take you on the whirlwind tour of Bradford before dropping you off at Sainsburys which is just across the road from the Richmond Building - see the bottom right of the map which you will find at the link below: http://www.bradford.ac.uk/media/estatesandfacilities/allfiles/documents/City-Campus-Car-Parks-with-Capacities.pdf Then walk across the campus to the Phoenix Building (or call me on my mobile and I'll collect you from Richmond Building, I'll email my mobile number to you). 2) the other option is grab a city taxi from the Interchange and ask them to drop you directly at the Phoenix Building, should be about £5 I think. And feel free to invade us with a hoard of friends - the more the merrier I say. University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - Bonesgirl - 8th January 2013 There are two Phoenix buildings on the map ... we will be in Phoenix SW Block. University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - pdurdin - 8th January 2013 Excellent, thanks! University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - Bonesgirl - 9th January 2013 Just had confirmation ... CBA cannot attend but will send us some leaflets to display. We also have just confirmed the attendance of the HER Officer from North Yorkshire County Council will be coming and taking a stall So while the speakers are pretty much sorted ... stalls are still being padded out ... whooooooooooo University of Bradford Archaeology and Environmental Sciences Employment Fair 2013 - Bonesgirl - 15th January 2013 Hello The schedule for the event has just been released.
