Cuts at National Museum Wales - BillyPilgrim - 22nd January 2013
Couldn't see this anywhere else on the forum, so though I'd post it for anyone who hasn't seen it.
The National Museum Wales is to cut 35 permanent staff, will restructure others (160 people) and will not renew fixed term contracts. According to this BBC report the cuts will focus on exhibitions, research and collections staff. I haven't seen anything that mentions how archaeology staff will be affected, but given the large role the Museum plays in Welsh archaeology (it has some significant collections along with sites such as the National Roman Legion Museum at Caerleon) I can't imagine it will escape unscathed.
