I was there last week - the building work on the abbey farm steading is progressing as per these images

As it stands the Abbey Steading is presently under conversion (as you saw) the jury is still out on the other side.. I will try and find out more..

REVISED PROPOSALS have been unveiled for the redevelopment of land adjacent to Balmerino Abbey.
The plans have been submitted to Fife Council by the St Andrews-based company Headon Developments and would see a development of five homes?the previous application was for 11.
A complete review of the previous scheme has been carried out in conjunction with the landowner, the Earl of Dundee, and a new firm of architects appointed.
Benjamin Tindall Architects, of Edinburgh, conducted the review and have come up with the new scheme of five properties.
Managing director of Headon Developments Joe Headon emphasised that considerable research was undertaken to ensure that the proposals are in keeping with the village architecture. The proposals will involve the removal of an agricultural shed, which has a major impact on the views and setting of the abbey.
Mr Headon said yesterday, ?We have been through the review process with the architects and believe that what is now proposed is a very well considered scheme and right for this sensitive site.?
The firm plan to stage a public exhibition of the new proposals within the next few weeks, when members of the team will be available to discuss any issues.
Mr Headon added, ?It is now over three years since we first became involved in this site and we are keen to see a resolution. The time spent on the review will hopefully ensure that the new proposals will find favour both with the public and the planning authority.?
The Earl of Dundee called for the re-examination of the residential housing plans for the development of the site.
