Insurance for Local Socs. - BAJR Host - 16th March 2008 Had this question in: I have a question for you both: My society is having some insurance issues. We thought that we were covered for a skilled volunteer to run the hired digger, but it turns out that we are not. The insurance guys want 3000 pounds per year to cover us. This is beyond the means of our small society, and I was wondering if you have any ideas? We have some rather deep digs coming up and, for the aging members of the society, it will be a hard go by hand. There must be an insurance company in the UK that would be willing to cover a small society for cheap. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. ( I even have a deal with another branch of the same company) where I got a good deal... maybe BAJR should offer Insurance though perhaps not ! thanks for that... I will let them know about it.. Khufu Insurance for Local Socs. - BAJR Host - 17th March 2008 This is the reply................ not very 'insuring' and a worry about other societies Quote:quote:Thanks for the link, but that is who is currently insuring us. Towergate even thought that we were covered for the digger, but it turns out we are not. Any other thoughts? So other options please... and perhaps an investigation about what is covered? We all use Towergate.. (do we?) has anyone looked closely at what is covered? Perhaps the CBA could look into this... "No job worth doing was ever done on time or under budget.." Khufu Insurance for Local Socs. - drpeterwardle - 17th March 2008 The cover that is being asked for is "covered for a skilled volunteer to run the hired digger" ie drive a machine so the premium is for that type of activity so I am not surprised by the premium. It will be cheaper to hire a driver as well the machine. Peter Insurance for Local Socs. - BAJR Host - 17th March 2008 Good point Peter... I wonder if the volunteer is a digger driver? Will find out "No job worth doing was ever done on time or under budget.."
