The Welsh Rock Art Organisation (WRAO) Field School and Excavation
Time: 03 November - 07 November 2010.Location: Newport, Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, UK.Field work will include excavation, drawing, photography and survey work at several rock-art sites in the Preseli landscape. We will also be hunting for a stone which has passage grave art, similar to that found in Anglesey and the Boyne Valley monuments of Ireland.
We do have some cracking sites to survey and the Trefoel decorated capstone to excavate, all in a fantastic Landscape. Our base and spacious self contained accommodation will be in the lovely seaside town of Newport with its own hidden secrets and a castle. For those that took part on the Anglesey Rock-Art project you will love Pembrokeshire! The accommodation is available for 5 nights and we will be providing dinner for 4 of the 5 nights and breakfast each
day.
Costs for the four full days of unique field work experience with lectures are ?350 (concession for full time students ?295), per person including up to 5 nights of accommodation, evening meals and breakfast. Places will be limited to a maximum of 14, so book early.
