Well thanks for that...
When you look at Past Horizons.. it does also provide a free service to over 400 sites across the world to give access to digs for volunteers... but hey.... if people can do it cheaper... good on em... sometimes though (when you know how much it actually costs to buy them) you have to put up a fair price. A price war from us - nup... people have a choice... and can buy from whomever they wish if paying an extra 3 quid above the cheapest deal they know it actually allows Past Horizons to spend months collecting sites (at no cost to the site) - which they can access for free.. hey... its worth it... I have been told by my wife to shut up (fair but harsh words!) - But seriously folks.. you want to buy elsewhere, feel free, we ain't offended - is that crap busness or is that crap business ! dropping prices to a break even level smacks of all that has been going wrong with UK archaeology. anyway.... nuff said.. and ps honest thanks to Timber Wolf for pointing out another source "No job worth doing was ever done on time or under budget.." David said
"Anyone seen with a trowel holder should be taken to a quiet place." What quiet place should I be taken to David? I have just ordered two at a price you cannot match. See previous post. Timber Wolf said " Why would anyone want to pay this price when http://www.tool-up.co.uk can offer WHS archaeologists trowels for £8.50 + VAT (£10.51 including VAT)" at 21:53 At 11:59 this statement is now incorrect. They are now out of stock. The price that David is charging is competitive with other specialist suppliers. Please see earlier posts. It also took me a few searches of said site to find said trowel and they are offering a range of trowels which may be suitable. The point with the BAJR service is you know you are getting a product which is suitable for the job. Ah trowel futures .... what next - trowel derivatives .... commercial archaeology may be coming of age! Peter PS I need 10-20 of said ranging rods (I get discounts anyway) and in answer to Garybrun's comment and quote - "When archaeologists use photogrammetry, they should work in close cooperation with a professional photogrammetrist": A. I am trained in photogrammetry and if neccessary I can hire in said professionals. B. I have not said I would be using them for said purpose

Around £14 pounds is what I have paid in the past and I will certainly be buying from BAJR. I think, to be honest, its the least I can do. NOw we just have to find a way for Mr Hosty to be salaried from BAJR...

No chance of a magnetometer and res meter I suppose David? Around 14 quid each?? But I won't need a holster...
You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
