Hello all - during a discussion about the relative merits of one website over another, myself and drpeterwardle exchanged a couple of posts about the term 'henge'. Spurred on by the exchange, I've covered the subject in finer detail and published it as a 'knol'. It deals with the origins of the word, the man that applied it to the monument type and whether archaeology as a discipline is mature enough to initiate the kind of naming revision that is commonplace in taxonomy/systematics.
If anyone would like to add comment or spell out to me why I'm talking nonsense, I'd be pleased to hear from them.
